Tell us a little bit about yourself

I am a freelance creative with a taste for tea. Since graduating from Norwich School of Art and Design in 2008 with a BA (Hons) in Graphic Design I have gone on to work with various clients. From designing to directing, from photographing to illustrating, the work that has come my way has certainly been varied.

If I’m spotted without a sketchbook and a pen neatly placed in my pocket, worry.

Can you describe your average workday?

Yes, I can. The usual day starts with some sifting through of emails and then, with Shredded Wheat sitting comfortably in my stomach and a fine blend of British tea to hand, I put pen to paper.

Balancing sketching, typing and tweaking with tweeting and corresponding, my day soon turns to night.

Who inspires you and your work?

Like so many others, I can gain inspiration from a design magazine or simply from walking down the street and noticing a particular colour or series of shapes. Time and again, snippets of conversation I overhear from passers-by generate a wealth of ideas. My brain might fill with suggestions and conclusions from just seven distinguishable words.

What project is currently on your screen/paper or in the drying rack?

The project that I’m currently working on, amongst others, is an array of new self-promotion. I find that a piece or two of fresh self-promotion keeps the returning visitors excited and the new clients intrigued. So, without giving too much away, I will suggest the following title: cyan and his closest companions.

What blog, magazine or book should we all check out?

The websites I often check out are http://www.designboom.com and http://www.fuelyourcreativity.com. As with most of us, I turn my attention to the printed form too. I browse through books such as Made with FontFont by Middendorp and Spiekermann, Paper Engineering by Natalie Avella, and How to Advertise by Roman & Maas.

Where can we find your work?
